United in ARMS: a Mech RPG

A mech TTRPG that protests being lumped with other mech TTRPGs, UiA's goal is to emphasize that the player characters are the heroes, not their overpowered vehicles; and to marry the beautiful chaos of freeform stunts and high-flying maneuvers with the simple, fiction-first philosophy that has defined the OSR/NSR/FKR movement. 

Play as an ACE, an exceptionally talented pilot of Armored Recon Mechanicals (ARMs), in a system that does its best to stay out of your way and let you play the setting, series or story you've always wanted to play. 

Tear a few new holes in the battlefield with an endless display of daring STUNTS! The system has been built to be minimal and simple, to best enable players in their endless ambitions to STYLE on the opposition!

Dropkick enemy mechs! Bomb the ceiling to bring it down onto your opponents! Pin an enemy to the floor so that your buddy can turn them to paste with a battering ram! Rip off your own arm to throw it like a boomerang at a fleeing rival! All of these are from Playtesting! Using the revolutionary tech of "Communicate with your GM and discuss how sick it would be", the freeform Stunt system empowers you be the hottest shot, loosest cannon and/or wildest maverick this side of Alpha Centauri. 

Worried about your robust-yet-fragile war machine falling apart from all the punishment you put it through? Annoyed that your rivals always seem to get the coolest mechs? With your trusty PITPICK (a crowbar with a bomb on the end of it), you can put your fleshy, extremely mortal ass on the battlefield, crack open the cockpit of an enemy ARM, blow away the bastard inside, and use his sweet ride to rain death upon his buddies, without ever breaking stride! 

The game comes with a simple 4 page player booklet containing all the rules you need to get started, a 9 page GM booklet full of additional materials and questionably useful advice, and a solid two pages of Example ARMs to spark your imagination and/or get a quick game rolling. Design your own ARMs, add new rules that your group likes, and complicate (or simplify) the mechanics to your heart's content. Make the game your own. I believe in you.
